Day to End Homelessness is a community-wide campaign to find permanent homes for men, women and children experiencing homelessness in central Ohio. You can make a difference by becoming a Housing Hero – donating $1 a day, $30 a month on your credit card – to help rebuild the lives of our vulnerable neighbors. All funds raised will benefit programs of the Community Shelter Board, a nationally recognized organization that funds housing and homeless services in Columbus and Franklin County.
Community Shelter Board is dedicated to ending homelessness and rebuilding lives in central Ohio. With the support of people like you, Community Shelter Board and our 18 provider agencies are fulfilling this vision every single day. With our partners, we assist over 9,000 men, women and children each year with basic needs and life-saving programs. Using our nationally-recognized model, we work on the full scope of homelessness priorities: access, crisis response, transition and advocacy.
Community Shelter Board was established in 1986 by a small group of business and community leaders organized by Mel Schottenstein, who believed it was not acceptable for any person to be homeless in Columbus and Franklin County, even for one night.
Community Shelter Board and provider agencies served 65% more families and 14% more single adults over the last three years. Thousands of area residents will arrive at the doorstep of emergency shelters this year, forced from their homes by deepening poverty. Thanks to your generous support, people facing a housing crisis will receive not only a safe place to sleep but crucial services to help them find work, access benefits and end their homelessness by getting into housing quickly.
